Commercial Loan Officer, Mark Cox Joins Capital Bank, Columbia, South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C., Dec. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital Bank, N.A. (Nasdaq: CBKN) recently announced the appointment of Mark Cox as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer in Columbia, SC. Cox, a native of Columbia, will serve the Commercial Banking division by developing and maintaining commercial relationships and by supporting community leaders and business owners in the Columbia community.

Cox has over 20 years of commercial banking experience during a 30 year banking career in the Columbia market.  He attended the University of South Carolina and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. Cox is an active participant in the community through his involvement with the Financial Stability Council of the United Way of the Midlands, his role as Board Chair of the Midlands Housing Trust Fund, Board Chair of the Committee of 100, Board member of the SC Central Alliance, and as State Treasurer and Board Member for the Coastal Conservation Association of South Carolina.

"Capital Bank has been built on a commitment to the communities it serves, whether proactively being a financial consultant and provider of services to the businesses and individuals we have the privilege to serve, or providing support to the community we live in.  Those have always been top objectives for me during my banking career, and though the Capital Bank brand is new to the Columbia market, it is a pleasure to be with a bank that makes them a top priority," said Mark Cox.  "I look forward to bringing our services and expertise to former and future clients."
