NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was sentenced on Wednesday to 14 years in federal prison for political corruption, most notably for his attempt to sell then president-elect Barack Obama's U.S. Senate seat to the highest bidder.
Judge James Zagel announced the ruling, which fined the former governor $20,000 and required him to serve out his sentence starting February 16, 2012. |
