College Football: Rematch Bowl for BCS Crown

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- LSU has one game left to win before it can possibly be considered the greatest college football team of all time.

No. 1 LSU (13-0) will meet No. 2 Alabama (11-1) on Jan. 9 in the BCS National Championship game in New Orleans.

Seven of LSU's victories have come against ranked teams, including a No. 2 (Alabama) and two No. 3's (Oregon and Arkansas).

LSU Coach Les Miles

There doesn't seem to be too much resistance to the Crimson Tide getting another chance against LSU. Some people make the case for Oklahoma State (11-1), which dismantled Oklahoma on Saturday night, but the No. 3 Cowboys have that little problem where they lost to Iowa State (6-6) on Nov. 18.

Alabama Coach Nick Saban

So maybe this next SEC showdown will feature more than 15 points, as did LSU's 9-6 victory on Nov. 5. The way this season has gone, though, it wouldn't be surprise if Alabama wins. After all, the Tide had more scoring opportunities in that game, just not enough luck.

The other BCS bowl matchups feature Wisconsin vs. Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 2; Oklahoma State vs. Stanford in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 3; Clemson vs. West Virginia in the Orange Bowl on Jan. 4; and Kansas State vs. Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 6.

The College Football Corner, after going 41-28 on picks through the regular season, will return for the BCS bowl season, leading up to the national championship game. We hope you had as much fun following the greatest sport in the world as we have this season.
