First BanCorp Announces Results Of Rights Offering

First BanCorp (the “Corporation”) (NYSE: FBP), the bank holding company for FirstBank Puerto Rico, announced that it will receive gross proceeds of approximately $3.3 million in connection with the exercise of basic and over-subscription privileges in its previously announced rights offering. The rights offering expired by its terms at 5:00 p.m. EST, on November 29, 2011. The Corporation will issue approximately 950,356 shares of its common stock as a result of the offering. The closing for the rights offering is expected to occur on December 2, 2011.
