Micrel Promotes General Counsel And Corporate Secretary Colin Sturt To Vice President

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Micrel, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRL), an industry leader in analog, high bandwidth communications and Ethernet IC solutions, today announced that Colin Sturt has been promoted to Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.  Mr. Sturt has been the Company's legal counsel since 2010 with responsibility for all the Company's global legal affairs.  He reports directly to President and CEO, Ray Zinn.

Prior to joining Micrel, he worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where he served as a corporate attorney.  Before that, he worked at National Semiconductor in the areas of organizational improvement, operational improvement, project management and operations support management.  He graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A.  He also has earned two masters degrees in Organizational Behavior and International and Area Studies from Brigham Young University and graduated with a law degree from the Columbia University Law School.  Mr. Sturt is admitted to the bar in California and New York.
