Bloomberg Blasts Obama for Super Committee Failure
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg blasted both President Barack Obama and the congressional super committee on Monday, saying their failure to compromise on ways to cut the federal budget was a damning indictment of the government's effectiveness.
"It's the chief executive's job to bring people together and to provide leadership. I don't see that happening," Bloomberg said Monday. "Here it is, the market is coming apart, people have lost their jobs, they can't find work and in three and a half weeks they couldn't even bother to sit down together, what kind of government is that?"

Bloomberg said that no business CEO would submit a plan to a committee and then walk away in hopes that the committee members would work out a solution.
The comments came as Bloomberg himself faced criticism for how the city handled evicting Occupy Wall Street protesters from their make-shift home in Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan last week.
The White House blamed Republicans for the panel's failure to reach a decision. "It comes down to a decision by Republicans that they aren't willing to do what the American people say should be done," Jay Carney, White House press secretary, said Monday. -- Written by Joe Deaux in New York. >Contact me here: Joe Deaux. >Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/JoeDeaux.Select the service that is right for you!
