American Safety Insurance raised over $66,000 for the America Red Cross at its Eighth Annual Charity Golf Tournament, held September 29, 2011.
The funds were raised through player entry fees, sponsorships, mulligan and raffle ticket sales, as well as an ASI company match. Gold sponsors included Engle Martin, Cozen O’Connor, Fields Howell LLP, and NIIT Technologies.
“Once again, the day was a huge success because of the generosity of our employees, vendors, customers and business partners, especially given the current economic conditions,” said Stephen R. Crim, CEO of ASI and a participant in the tournament, “Our employees enjoy raising money for great causes, and I am pleased that we were able to meet our fundraising goals for the eighth straight year.”
This year’s event was held at BridgeMill Golf Club in Canton, Georgia and boasted more than 120 golfers from across the U.S. Players enjoyed multiple opportunities to win prizes, such as: closest to the pin and longest drive competitions and a raffle, which offered a grand prize of a weeks’ stay at a private villa and roundtrip airfare for two to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Since its inception in 2004, ASI’s annual tournament has raised more than $350,000 for charitable organizations. In addition to the American Red Cross, past recipients include American Heart Association, Habitat for Humanity, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, ALS Association, Autism Society of America, the Susan G. Komen Foundation and American Cancer Society’s Atlanta chapters.
