NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Midas Medici Group Holdings, Inc. ("Midas") (OTCBB: MMED), an innovative green IT company in the fields of virtualization, cloud computing and data management, today announced that its CEO and Co-Founder, Nana Baffour, received the 26th Annual Association of Hispanic and Black Business Students (AHBBS) Distinguished Alumni Award at NYU's Stern School of Business.

The AHBBS Distinguished Alumni Award is presented each year to an individual that meets the organization's highest standards of excellence and has achieved significant success in business post-graduation and continues to be actively involved in AHBBS and the Stern community.  The award ceremony was held on Thursday, October 20th at the NYU Torch Club and was attended by a combination of faculty, alumni of AHBBS, as well as current students at NYU Stern School of Business.

"I am excited and honored to be recognized by AHBBS and the Stern School of Business," stated Nana Baffour, CEO and Co-Founder of Midas Medici.  "AHBBS has always been a vibrant and supportive community at Stern and it was a great privilege to speak at the ceremony, connect with alumni, and talk to Stern students about the many experiences I have had over the years, and what it takes to run a successful international business."

The award ceremony was followed the next day by the 26th Annual AHBBS Conference, which featured a variety of speakers and panelists that shared their insights and experiences on the keys to succeeding in a borderless world. The event included sponsors such as JPMorgan, Bank of New York Mellon and Credit Suisse, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Houlihan Lokey, Morgan Stanley, Citi, Deloitte, Merck and Unilever, to name a few.

"It was a pleasure for me to present this award to Nana for his significant business accomplishments," said Gary Fraser, Dean of Students and Associate Dean for MBA Student Affairs at NYU Stern School of Business.  "I have known Nana for over 10 years, since he first came to NYU Stern as an MBA student.  It is extraordinary to see how far he has come and we hope that his numerous relationships and experiences that shaped his time at Stern continue to assist him in the pursuit of his future endeavors."

"Our students were thrilled to have Nana share his business wisdom and unique insights at the event.  As one of our most distinguished alumni we appreciate his long dedication to our organization and wish him the very best as he continues our legacy and leads a very dynamic company toward further success," said Marguerite Pressley, AHBBS VP of Alumni Relations at NYU Stern School of Business.

AHBBS is a student organization devoted to enhancing the NYU Stern student experience through professional development, community building and social networking.  AHBBS welcomes all Stern students who share an interest in business programs and is one of the most dynamic organizations at Stern, with over 500 members.
