Christmas Won't Come Early at Nordstrom
NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Nordstrom (JWN) is taking a very different stance on its holiday marketing.
While retailers like Macy's (M), Kohl's (KSS) and Target (TGT) are jumping on the Black Friday midnight madness bandwagon and already offering pre-Black Friday sales, the luxury retailer has decided to take each holiday in stride.

Nordstrom has a long-standing policy of not decorating for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving, and this year will be no different. Signage from Nordstrom's window last year has been circulating on Facebook: "Well, we just like the idea of celebrating one holiday at a time. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving."

Nordstrom spokesperson Colin Johnson said that the company will likely have similar signs up this year as well. "We will continue to honor our tradition of waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate our stores this year as well - just as we've always done," Johnson said.
