HERNDON, Va., Oct. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- InSysCo, a GTSI company and leading provider of software development and support services to the federal government, announced today that it has been awarded Honorable Mention in the 2011 Great Places to Work competition held by Washingtonian magazine.  Winning workplaces in the Washington, DC, area were chosen on the basis of quality measures such as pay and benefits, challenging and interesting work, work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, financial stability, commitment to charity and community and the recognition and respect given to employees.

The magazine reviewed more than 200 companies and some 13,000 employee surveys, with the final determinations relying heavily on the scores given by a company's employees. InSysCo received particular notice for its flexible work environment, a hallmark of the company since its founding more than two decades ago.

Winners were highlighted in the November issue of the magazine, which is now on newsstands. This is the seventh time Washingtonian has chosen Great Places to Work in the Washington area. The feature is published every two years and dates back to 1999.

Shelbi Potter, InSysCo's VP of Business Operations said, "We're honored to have been selected for this prestigious award.  The foundation of our successful 21-year history is talented, committed employees.  A significant portion of our recruiting referrals is from current or former employees, which we see as the highest of compliments."
