In June of 2010, Gardner Denver relocated its corporate headquarters from Illinois to Chester County. The $10 million project will create at least 40 new jobs within three years. The project was coordinated by the Governor's Action Team, or GAT, a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. GAT provides site selection assistance, coordinates the involvement of other state agencies as needed, and packages the appropriate economic development funding for the project. Gardner Denver received a $218,000 funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development, including a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant and $18,000 in job training assistance. "Having this facility in the Marcellus Shale region will allow us to serve our customers with the velocity they have grown to expect from Gardner Denver," said Barry L. Pennypacker, company president and CEO. "We are grateful for the continued support the Governor and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania have given our company and we look forward to working closely with them in the future."
