CUPERTINO, Calif. (TheStreet) -- Apple's(AAPL) hotly anticipated iPhone event on Tuesday has been slammed by many of the tech giant's zealots, who wanted to see new hardware in the shape of an iPhone 5.

Instead, Apple introduced the new iPhone 4S. A souped-up version of the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S is faster than its predecessor thanks to its dual-core A5 chip. Containing both GSM and CDMA antennas, the iPhone 4S can also run on both U.S. and European networks.

Apple unveiled its iPhone 4S on Tuesday

In addition to its main iPhone 4S announcement on Tuesday, Apple shook up the telecom sector by adding Sprint(S) to its stable of U.S. iPhone partners.

Still, though, the absence of an iPhone 5 was seen by many observers as a major disappointment following months of rumor and speculation that Apple had new hardware up its sleeve.

With that in mind, we want to find out what you think about Apple's iPhone event.

Will you buy the new iPhone 4S?

Yes - I can't wait to get my hands on it.
No - I am ditching Apple for another smartphone.
No - I am waiting for the iPhone 5.
