Analysts are looking for a profit of 42 cents a share in the quarter on revenue of $145.4 million.
"With our focus on solution selling, delays in closing larger deals have a material impact on our quarterly results," said Richard Reidy, the company's president and CEO, in a statement. "Though we have greatly improved our sales capabilities over the last year, we are not consistently performing at desired levels."
Reidy also called the company's performance in the latest quarter "disappointing," citing the decline in license revenue for its Enterprise Business Solutions business. Software license revenue fell 13 % to $38.7 million in the latest quarter from $44.7 million a year ago.
The stock was last quoted at $17.50, down 9.6%, on volume of less than 20,000, according to Nasdaq.com. The shares closed Tuesday at $19.39, and were already down nearly 33% prior to the after-hours move.Other stocks moving in the extended session included Saba Software (SABA), whose shares rose nearly 10% to $6.17 on volume of less than 10,000 after the company reported a narrower than expected quarterly loss as revenue rose 13% year-over-year; and OMNOVA Solutions (OMN), whose stock leapt nearly 21% to $4.36 also on volume of less than 10,000 after the company posted adjusted earnings of 9 cents a share, beating Wall Street's view by 4 cents, with sales rising 45% to $331.1 million aided by higher pricing. --Written by Michael Baron in New York.
