ORIX Venture Finance
(“OVF”), a leading provider of growth capital for growing technology companies nationwide, announced today that Ron Kundich, a seasoned technology and life science finance executive, has joined its Silicon Valley office. Kundich will serve as a senior relationship manager for the western region, working closely with Michael David, who was recently promoted to Co-Head of the division.
OVF’s Palo Alto office targets growing technology companies in Silicon Valley and the Pacific Northwest, which have private equity or venture capital backing. Kundich will support the growing West Coast demand, as well as OVF’s expansion into the southwestern states. Commenting on the hire, Mr. David said, “ORIX Venture Finance is focused on providing creative enhancements to equity financing for mid- and late-stage growth companies. Ron is a Silicon Valley native with deep roots in the technology and life science finance communities, and we look forward to his contributions to our team.”
Kundich has nearly 20 years of technology lending experience. Most recently, he was a senior vice president in the Technology Banking Group of US Bank, where he helped build the portfolio and develop the strategic direction of the team. Previously Kundich co-founded the Silicon Valley office of Square 1 Bank, while his earlier career includes roles in the Life Science practice at Silicon Valley Bank, and as a banking officer in the technology practice with Imperial Bank (acquired by Comerica). Kundich earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, and holds an MBA from San Jose State University.
“I’m excited to be joining ORIX to help expand its presence in Silicon Valley and beyond,” Kundich said. “The ORIX Venture Finance team has a solid 10 year track record and is a stable source of creative capital to enhance growth in this difficult economic cycle.”
Mr. David added, “We plan to deploy $100 million or more in the next few quarters, and welcome Ron’s experience and deal expertise in structuring additive growth capital and helping to secure beneficial partnerships in the banking and venture capital communities.”
