Opexa’s CEO Invited To Present At Two Cell Therapy Forums In Asia During September, 2011

Opexa Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: OPXA), a company developing Tovaxin®, a novel T-cell therapy for multiple sclerosis (MS), today announced that Neil K. Warma, Opexa’s President and Chief Executive Officer, has been invited to deliver a presentation at The Phacilitate Cell & Gene Therapy Forum Asia 2011 at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. This year’s Forum, which is taking place on September 19, 2011, is titled Delivering the Strategic Keys to Capitalizing on World-class Cell & Gene Therapy Manufacturing Opportunities in Asia & Australia. Mr. Warma’s presentation will occur at 12:40 PM Singapore time.

Mr. Warma will also deliver a keynote presentation at the 2011 Annual Zhong Guancun Forum for Innovation & Development at the Beijing International Conference Center, Beijing, China, which will take place from September 29-30, 2011. Mr. Warma’s presentation, titled Cell Therapy: Revolutionizing Disease Treatment, will occur on September 29 ^th at 4:10 PM Beijing time.

Data from this clinical study show evidence that RRMS patients treated with Tovaxin saw overall clinical and disability benefits over the placebo group, including a clinically relevant decrease in the Annualized Relapse Rate (ARR), and improvement in disability score (EDSS), as well as an excellent safety profile with no serious adverse events related to Tovaxin treatment. In addition, Opexa is evaluating opportunities to advance Tovaxin through clinical development in Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (SPMS), an area with high unmet medical need.
