Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ: HURN), a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced that the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), has selected its Click™ Portal software to automate material transfer agreement (MTA) processing throughout the university.
Utilizing the Click Portal software, UC San Diego will track and process thousands of agreements involving inbound and outbound research material transfers ranging from devices to DNA samples and biohazardous agents. The system will enable researchers, staff, and transfer analysts to track materials more easily and accurately as they pass from one laboratory or institution to another. “MTA is a multi-step process that tends to be complex, and the Click Portal software will provide tracking efficiencies and easy access to the status of a transfer application throughout its lifecycle,” said Linda Collins, assistant vice chancellor, Contract and Grant Administration, UC San Diego. “Getting research materials where they need to be is essential to keeping the research in motion. The ultimate goal is to speed the delivery of research results while maintaining control over intellectual property and compliance.” “The University of California, San Diego, is responding to the growing challenge of managing sensitive materials,” said Nick Stier, managing director, Huron Education. “The Click software solution’s adaptability matches an institution’s local logistic and documentation needs and facilitates sending and receiving data to other systems. Like all Click systems, MTA works within and contributes to an increasingly interconnected university system environment.” UC San Diego will now join many other research institutions that use Huron’s Click Portal platform to automate a wide range of administrative and compliance processes, including those associated with Institutional Review Boards (IRB), conflicts of interest (COI), grants, and clinical trials.
