Spire Establishes Solar Branch Office In India

Spire Corporation (Nasdaq: SPIR), a global solar company that provides capital equipment and turn-key manufacturing lines to produce (PV) modules, today announced that it has established a wholly owned subsidiary, Spire Solar Technologies Private Limited, that will have an office in Bangalore, India.

Leading Spire Solar Technologies Private Limited is Mr. Harjinder “Harry” Wahra who joined Spire in 2008 as the Vice President of Solar Cell Lines, and has more than proven he is capable of assuming the position as Managing Director of the Indian office.

India is located in the sun belt of the earth, thereby receiving abundant radiant energy from the sun. There has been an influx of solar activity throughout India, especially after its Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, launched the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. “Our vision is to make India’s economic development energy-efficient,” said Dr. Singh. “In this strategy, the sun occupies center-stage, as it should, being literally the original source of all energy.”
