Scientific Learning’s New Software Improves Communication Skills In Kids With Autism

Scientific Learning Corp. (NASDAQ:SCIL) today announced the launch of BrainPro ® Autism, new software for at home use to improve language and communication skills in children with autism. BrainPro Autism consists of game-like exercises that improve these skills by exercising the brain while keeping the child engaged, supplemented with progress monitoring by a remote tutor who communicates weekly with the child’s team of specialists.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that appears in the first three years of life and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills. As a result, children with ASD are often isolated and feel frustrated by their inability to communicate with others. Today, statistics show that as many as one out of every hundred children is born with ASD.

BrainPro Autism includes an innovative software program that incorporates patented technologies to improve communication skills, specifically expressive and receptive language, in children with ASD. The program also comes with a remote tutor who meets once a week remotely for an in depth session with the child’s team of behavioral, educational and medical professionals.
