Harleysville Group Names Herenstein Chief Information Officer

Harleysville Group Inc. (NASDAQ: HGIC) today announced the appointment of Arne Herenstein as senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO). In this position, he will direct the company’s ongoing information technology strategy, integration and development efforts. He will report to Michael L. Browne, Harleysville Group’s president and chief executive officer.

Before coming to Harleysville, Herenstein was vice president of information technology for OneBeacon Insurance. Prior to that, he served in IT leadership roles at CIGNA, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Royal Insurance.

Herenstein has earned a bachelor’s degree from The City College of New York and a master’s in business administration from St. John’s University.
