$150 Million Spelling Mansion Sold

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- The $150 million mansion owned by Candy Spelling, wife of the late TV producer Aaron Spelling, was reportedly sold Tuesday to a 22-year-old heiress to a Formula One racing fortune.

Petra Ecclestone, daughter of British self-made billionaire and racing boss Bernie Ecclestone, reportedly bought the 57,000-square foot Los Angeles mansion.

Though the final sale price was undisclosed, the mansion, listed at $150 million, was the most expensive single-family home sold in America.

The property in Los Angeles' Holmby Hills known as "The Manor," sits on five acres and boasts such luxuries as a bowling alley, a 17,000-square foot attic with a barbershop and beauty salon, a flower-cutting room, a gift-wrapping room, an in-home theatre, a wine tasting room and parking for 100 cars.

There is also a "Prince Charles Suite" and a library that houses Aaron Spelling's bounded scripts from TV shows he produced such as "Mod Squad," "The Love Boat," "Charlie's Angels," "Dynasty," "Starsky and Hutch" and "Beverly Hills, 90210."

The Spellings purchased the property early in the 1980s, razing the existing home to build the 123-room French chateau-style mega-mansion in 1991.

Aaron Spelling passed away in 2006. Candy Spelling said the mansion was "too big just for me."
