DIY Network Kicks Off Second Annual “Crash Week” With First-Ever “Ultimate Crash” Special On July 3; Three Hosts Orchestrating One Massive Home Makeover
For the first time ever, DIY Network’s popular Crashers franchise joins forces for the biggest surprise home makeover yet. Premiering Sunday, July 3 at 8 p.m. ET, The Ultimate Crash: House, Bath, Yard features three of the network’s talented licensed contractors and hosts, Ahmed Hassan, Josh Temple and Matt Muenster, as they orchestrate a three-tiered home makeover for a California couple. The one-hour special kicks off the home improvement channel’s second annual Crash Week , July 4-8 (8 p.m. – 12 a.m. ET), featuring DIY Network’s experts as they set out across America in search of local residents and their homes to “crash” and “renovate” for new episodes of Yard Crashers, House Crashers and Bath Crashers.
In celebration of Crash Week , DIY Network is also offering viewers a chance to “Watch and Win” through a SMS sweepstakes to win a DIY Network prize pack. Every night during Crash Week, a secret code word, along with the text messaging number, will air on DIY Network throughout the 8-10 p.m. ET window. DIY Network will announce each night’s winner from 11 – 11:30 p.m. ET. The Ultimate Crash: House, Bath, Yard special captures homeowners John Frizzell, a police officer, and his wife, Sarah, a seventh grade teacher, being ambushed by DIY Network’s expert hosts at their local home improvement store. DIY Network’s experts soon learn the couple’s Folsom, Calif., home is in desperate need of an update. The home, a short sale/foreclosure the Frizzells purchased nearly one year ago, wins the home improvement lottery with three massive makeovers completed in just three days:- Outside, a boring, neglected yard becomes a relaxing Sierra mountain retreat. Hassan, a licensed landscape contractor and the host of Yard Crashers , updates the overall look of the space, creating a brand new spa and deck.
- An outdated kitchen gets an old-world Italian makeover with a very modern twist. Temple, a licensed contractor and the host of House Crashers , gives the heart of the Frizzells’ home a full facelift making it a more inviting dining space. The renovations include white-stacked stone adorned walls, a high-end wine fridge, reclaimed distressed hardwood floors, and a custom-designed table and bench seating.
- A boring, builder-grade master bathroom gets a sleek modern update. Muenster, a licensed contractor, designer and host of Bath Crashers , transforms their bathroom with Spa inspired sculptural tile, floating full-length mirrored vanities, and a waterproof TV viewable from both the glass tiled shower and unique freestanding tub.
