5 New Technical Setups for the Week
BALTIMORE (Stockpickr) -- A quiet start to the week isn't providing much in the way of guidance for traders right now -- particularly after the abrupt selloff in commodities that took place last week. The S&P 500 climbed a moderate 0.45% during Monday's trading session even as continued fiscal problems in Greece are complicated by a now lower debt rating for the Mediterranean nation.
And here at home, a 1-for-10 reverse split in the NYSE's most heavily traded stock, Citigroup(C), has significantly reduced the number of individual shares that trade hands on any given day on the big board. That'll be something market observers should keep in mind as they look at trading data coming from the exchanges. Meanwhile, our focus remains on specific technical trading opportunities this week, despite the somewhat docile nature of the markets right now.
