Openfilm, an online video technology and content delivery platform serving the independent film market, today announced Scott Caan will chat live on Openfilm.com with independent filmmakers and fans from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. PST Saturday, April 30. Caan, an Openfilm advisory board member, will offer industry insights and advice during the latest installment of the “Openfilm Live” webcast series. Openfilm, operated by publisher and services provider Net Element ( OTCQB:NETE), is the leading digital venue for undiscovered, talented filmmakers to showcase their work.

The webcast, hosted by Internet celebrity Michael Buckley of YouTube’s “What the Buck?” will be conducted in front of a student audience at The Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) and open for public participation and viewing at www.openfilm.com, www.livestream.com and www.ustream.TV. Openfilm Live is an online interview series featuring guest celebrities and film industry experts who, in real time, share insights and answer questions from online viewers.

“The Openfilm Live webcasts are a valuable resource for independent filmmakers and fans to get unique ideas, perspectives and advice from industry professionals they might not otherwise have an opportunity to access, and I’m proud to support the company’s mission to advance the careers of indie filmmakers and support the growth of the industry,” said Caan, who received a 2010 Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of “Danno” in one of the most-watched TV shows, CBS’s Hawaii Five-0. He has more than two dozen feature film acting credits.

Openfilm is free to join, and members may submit questions in advance via Openfilm’s website at http://www.openfilm.com/chats/4/. Anyone can submit questions via a Twitter hash tag at #askscottcaan. Questions also may be submitted in real time during the webcast. Posted questions are selected based on votes from the Openfilm community, and those submitted earlier have a higher chance of being selected. Bloggers and publishers may feature the live webcast by sending an email to press@openfilm.com with “Openfilm Live” in the subject line and obtaining the embed code. Complete details are available at http://www.openfilm.com/chats/4/.

“We are excited to partner with Openfilm.com because we appreciate its dedication to the world of independent film and its involvement with the educational community,” said Albert Villalta, vice president of marketing with LAFS. “The Los Angeles Film School encourages a spirit of creativity and growth, and having Scott Caan speak candidly with our students about his experiences in the entertainment industry aligns with our message.”
