General Maritime Corporation Announces Proposed Public Offering Of Common Stock

NEW YORK, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- General Maritime Corporation (NYSE: GMR) today announced that it intends to commence a public offering of primary shares of its common stock, par value $0.01 per share. The offering is subject to market conditions, and there can be no assurance as to whether or when the offering may be completed, or as to the actual size or terms of the offering. The Company intends to use all of the net proceeds from the offering to fund a portion of the remaining purchase price for its previously announced acquisition of a Suezmax vessel and for general corporate purposes.
