BigBand Wins 2010 Cable Spotlight Product Of The Year Award

BigBand Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:BBND), today announced that its Media Services Platform (MSP) has received a 2010 Cable Spotlight Product of the Year Award from Cable Spotlight, TMCNet’s leading cable technology website. The MSP is designed to allow operators to quickly add new applications and share bandwidth efficiently across multiple applications, enabling fast deployment of advanced advertising, IPTV, and other cutting-edge services at a lower cost of operation.

BigBand's MSP can be integrated into existing network architectures and provides an evolutionary approach to meet today's converged edge demands while supporting more narrowcast services in the future. The MSP offers a number of industry innovations, including modular architecture platforms combining ultra-dense QAMs (the industry’s densest QAM at 40:1) and multi-services delivery blades, dynamic bandwidth agility on the entire 50MHz to 1GHz RF spectrum, and the support of inter-QAM sharing between multiple services on the same service group or RF port. The platform can be integrated into existing network architecture and is also CMAP ready.
