Exide Technologies Awarded Supplier Of The Year From Saab Automobile

MILTON, Ga., March 22, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Exide Technologies (Nasdaq:XIDE) ( www.exide.com ), a global leader in stored electrical energy solutions, was honoured with the Supplier of the Year Award from Saab Automobile during a ceremony held on Feb. 23, 2011 at the Saab factory in Trollhattan, Sweden. Exide supplies SLI (starting, lighting, ignition) batteries for Saab's original equipment manufacturing and services channels.

Exide was recognized "for its contribution and unprecedented performance during the first year of the rebirth of Saab," said Jan Ake Jonsson, CEO of Saab. "Thanks to the cooperation and the big loyalty, these suppliers have shown they were prepared to walk an extra mile," said Kjell-Ake Eriksson, Saab Executive Director, Purchasing.
