Silicon Valley Group Jumps 34% on Takeover by ASM Lithography
Silicon Valley Group (SVGI Quote) rose 34% in preopen Island trading after announcing it would be bought by a rival chip equipment maker, ASM Lithography (ASML Quote) of the Netherlands, for $1.6 billion in stock, a 58% premium over Friday's close. ASM was down 3.4%.
