Windstream Launches New Homepages For Residential And Small Business Customers

LITTLE ROCK, Ark., March 10, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Windstream (Nasdaq:WIN) announced today the launch of two homepage portals for residential and small business customers. Windstream.net and Windstreambusiness.net each offer customers one website to go to for e-mail, news, sports, weather, entertainment, search, and more.

Both portals offer customers a richer online experience by giving them the ability to customize content and create their own personalized homepage as well as access to e-mail, news, entertainment, travel information, weather, and video.

Features include:

  • Easy access to all e-mail accounts in one location
  • Personalization that allows subscribers to access their preferred content and services
  • News specific to businesses, technology, and current events
  • Access to TV, video, and movie information and entertainment
  • Quick action tools that allow users to track packages, book travel, check stocks and connect to social media
  • A resource center with user manuals and product guides for Windstream services

The new windstream.net and windstreambusiness.net are powered by Synacor, a market leader providing personalized homepages and online entertainment services for high-speed Internet subscribers. These personalized homepages are designed as branded entry points for Windstream's subscribers to begin consuming Internet-based services and features. The integrated single sign-on process allows Synacor to securely identify and authenticate subscribers, so that Windstream can serve targeted features and localized information, further encouraging subscriber usage.
