Analogic Corporation Announces XLB Explosives Detection System Passes ECAC Standard 3 Evaluation

PEABODY, Mass., March 8, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), a leading provider of medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that the high-speed eXaminer ® XLB Explosives Detection System (EDS) for checked baggage has passed evaluation by the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC). This is the first evaluation of a high-speed EDS system to the new ECAC Standard 3.

The XLB, designed to process 1,200 bags per hour, uses the most advanced automatic explosives detection technology available to detect a wide range of explosives in passenger baggage and parcels. The XLB is marketed as the eXaminer XLB, distributed and supported by L-3 Security and Detection Systems.
