Comcast today announced that it donated more than $5.4 million in cash and in-kind resources to nearly 300 community organizations throughout Colorado last year. Key community partners include Mile High United Way, the Denver Public Schools Foundation, Goodwill Industries of Denver, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Denver Metro Chamber Leadership Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Mi Casa Resource Center, Metropolitan State College of Denver Foundation, Denver Urban League, Keystone Science Center, El Pueblo Boys and Girls Ranch and Cheyenne Village.
Comcast supports the community by providing access to innovative technology, volunteering time, giving financial support and partnering with organizations to make the local community stronger. Comcast’s focus is on community investment initiatives that build tomorrow’s leaders, promote community service and expand digital literacy.
"Once again Comcast leverages their resources for the good of the entire community,” said Christine Benero, President & CEO of the Mile High United Way. “Their financial contributions, coupled with in-kind gifts of volunteer hours, production expertise and broadcast time make a remarkable impact on countless community-based organizations. Comcast continues to set the bar for corporate social responsibility and leadership."
“At Comcast, we are committed to providing financial and in-kind support to nonprofits to help make our communities stronger,” said Rich Jennings, senior vice president of Comcast Mile High Region. “Whether it’s our focus on digital literacy programs, volunteerism, diversity or youth leadership development, we’re proud we can partner with so many outstanding nonprofit organizations in Colorado. It is truly inspiring to be a part of a company that helps so many people and organizations in the communities we serve.”
Comcast also offers the
Newsmakers program to dozens of nonprofits every month.
Newsmakers is a five-minute interview segment that airs on CNN Headline News offering nonprofit organizations an opportunity to share more in-depth information about how they support Colorado’s communities.
Further strengthening the company’s community commitment is the Comcast Community Partners Program. Now in its third year, the Comcast Community Partners is available to nonprofit organizations in Comcast service areas and provides heavily discounted offers on Comcast products and services, including a savings of up to $1,200 annually on Comcast High-Speed Internet service.
