Server Design Summit Appoints Swapna Yasarapu Of STEC As 2011 Conference Chairperson

SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 16, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEC), a leading global provider of solid-state drive (SSD) technologies and solutions, today announced that the Server Design Summit has appointed Swapna Yasarapu of STEC as its 2011 Conference Chairperson. The Summit, which is now a two-day event, is scheduled for November 29 th – 30 th at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Ms. Yasarapu is the Technical Marketing Manager for Advanced Computing SSD Products at STEC, and has more than 10-years of in-depth experience in high-tech storage networks, spanning from ASIC and product development to managing hardware and software storage products through concept and development to production. She holds an MSEE from University of California, Irvine, specializing in computer systems and software, and an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, with an emphasis on marketing and strategy. Previously, Ms. Yasarapu chaired the 2010 Server Design Summit's Increasing Server Performance Workshop. Versed in advanced Flash and storage drive technologies, as Chairperson, Ms. Yasarapu will discuss the role of SSDs in emerging storage architectures and the unique attributes that make them highly adaptable to these environments. The responsibilities of the 2011 Chairperson also include:
- Highlighting the innovations in server designs.
- Organizing a forum consisting of server designers and server users (data centers) that intimately understand the challenges faced by data centers, in order to provide pointed insight and advice to server designers for consideration when creating next generation architectures.
- Emphasize the innovative new uses of data center servers, especially with the integration of SSDs and virtualization technologies in next generation servers.
