Blue Star Gas Unveils New 24-Hour Autogas Fueling Station In Southern Oregon

MEDFORD, Ore., Feb. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Star Gas, an Alliance AutoGas partner, officially opened a new card-lock autogas station that will be accessible 24 hours, 7 days a week.

Jeff Stewart, president of Blue Star Gas, hailed the fuel's benefits for the community at the station's inauguration. "We're excited to make clean-burning autogas available to the public, day and night," Stewart said of Medford's only round-the-clock autogas refueling station. "As a local company, we're doing our part to create green jobs and fuel Oregon's energy transformation."

The fueling station grand opening, which took place Wednesday, February 9, was promoted by the Rogue Valley Cities Coalition, one of many Clean Cities groups that receive funding from the U.S. Department of Energy to promote alternative fuels nationwide.

Wednesday's event was attended by members of the public and the media. Following a toast and ribbon-cutting ceremony, an Alliance AutoGas-sponsored "ride-and-drive" segment provided interested attendees the opportunity to test drive a Ford Escape, Ford Expedition, and Ford Crown Victoria that were converted to run on autogas.

The 24-hour, 7-days-per-week propane autogas refueling station is located just outside Medford at 6096 Crater Lake Ave, Central Point, OR 97502. Card-lock access is required for all fueling stations in Oregon, and Blue Star will provide interested autogas users with their own card key upon request.
