First Tennessee Upgrades Mobile Banking App To Include Mobile Bill Pay For IPhones And Other Smart Phones
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Feb. 7, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Just in time for launch of the Verizon iPhone, First Tennessee Bank is launching an updated mobile banking application that includes a new mobile bill pay feature for iPhones and other smart phones. First Tennessee, with more than 180 branches in and around Tennessee, is part of the First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE:FHN) family of companies. "Apps are changing so quickly, often by the minute, so we are working to keep up with the technology and give our customers the functions they want – and some they haven't even thought of," said David Popwell, chief operating officer for First Tennessee. "We're constantly on the lookout for the next great thing that can make our customers continue to love banking with us." First Tennessee isn't new to the idea of using technology to wow customers. The company pioneered the Visa payroll card, one of BusinessWeek magazine's Best Products of 2001. First Tennessee was also a pioneer of remote deposit capture, which allows businesses to deposit checks by scanning them rather than physically delivering them to the bank. And for the past two years First Tennessee's parent company has been named to the Information Week 500, a ranking of the country's most innovative users of technology. With First Tennessee's mobile banking app, customers can check account balances, transfer funds between accounts, view recent transactions and find the nearest First Tennessee ATM or financial center. The mobile bill pay upgrade allows customers to pay bills, see payments made or cancel payments. To download the app or get more information, customers can visit www.ftb.com/mobile .
