RR Donnelley Secures Multi-Million Dollar, Multi-Year Customer Communications Management Contract

CHICAGO and LONDON, Jan. 25, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- R. R. Donnelley & Sons Company (Nasdaq:RRD) announced today that it has secured a multi-million dollar, multi-year contract with Shop Direct Group (SDG), the UK's largest online and home shopping retailer. SDG has a number of retail brands within its portfolio including Littlewoods, Very.co.uk, isme and Woolworths.

Under the terms of the contract anticipated to start in March, RR Donnelley will provide a broad range of services to Shop Direct Group, including premedia, print management, transactional print, fulfillment and inbound document processing. The company will also employ a variety of technologies in support of Shop Direct Group's integrated communications program.

Its proprietary MediaCompass® digital asset management and workflow platform will be used by RR Donnelley employees on two continents in support of catalog preparation. The print management service will encompass the production of tens of millions of catalogs and direct mail pieces. In addition, RR Donnelley will leverage its expertise and experience to handle the composition, production and delivery of more than 100 million transactional mail pieces per annum, with disaster recovery and business continuity resources through its Critical Mail Continuity Services (CMCS) operations. The inbound document processing element of the solution includes handling correspondence which will also be managed by RR Donnelley, using a blend of local and international resources.
