IOGEAR Selects Cavium’s PureVu™ Processors For Its Next Generation Of Retail Multimedia Home Streaming Devices

Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a leading provider of semiconductor products that enable intelligent processing for networking, communications and the digital home, today announced that IOGEAR Corporation has selected the PureVu TM CNW5xxx video processors for its next generation retail multimedia streaming devices. Following the successful introduction of its CNW3xxx-based product line in early 2010, IOGEAR is extending its partnership with Cavium to leverage all the benefits of the new CNW5xxx SoC (System-on-a-Chip) family, including higher performance for up to 1080p 3D processing, improved multi-room video quality of service (QoS), and back-channel support for a higher degree of interactivity.

"IOGEAR's legacy is built on bringing customers innovative and market-leading products in a broad range of categories ranging from KVM to USB to the latest wireless streaming technologies," said Douglas Turner, vice president at IOGEAR. "High quality wireless video distribution is critical to many of our products and partnering with Cavium will keep IOGEAR on the cutting edge of video processing technology for years to come."

Cavium’s 2D and 3D PureVu video processors are designed to enable highest video quality and performance for wireless display and home video distribution applications. Armed with Cavium’s SLL™ technology for real-time interactivity, and SMART video QoS for reliable multi-room operation, PureVu™ video processors from Cavium are ideal for integration into a broad set of CE devices, as well as stand-alone transmitter and receiver adapters for enabling legacy CE devices.

“We are extremely pleased to see IOGEAR expand its portfolio of PureVu TM based multimedia streaming products,” said Lars Herlitz, GM of Cavium’s Multimedia Group. “This is a testimony to Cavium’s continued commitment to providing innovative technologies to its customers, enabling them to maintain their leadership by bringing world class products to the market.”
