Carolina Trust Bank Announces Underwriting Agreement For Sale Of Its Common Stock
LINCOLNTON, N.C., Dec. 30, 2010 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Carolina Trust Bank (Nasdaq: CART) announced that it had entered into an underwriting agreement with McKinnon & Company, Inc., for the sale of approximately 312,000 shares of common stock sold in a community offering and approximately 1,588,000 shares of common stock sold in a public offering. Shares were sold at $3.00 per share for gross proceeds of approximately $5.7 million.
The Bank intends to use the net proceeds from the offerings to expand its loan and investment portfolios, to provide capital to support additional growth opportunities, including opening or acquiring additional branches, and for general corporate purposes.
As a state-chartered bank, this offering was made pursuant to an exemption from the Securities Act of 1933, as amended, so no registration statement was filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
