Disneyland Welcomes Rose Bowl-Bound Wisconsin And TCU Football Teams Sunday, December 26

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 26, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Now that Wisconsin and Texas Christian University have won berths in the 2011 Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO in Pasadena, what are they going to do next? They're going to Disneyland!

The BCS-ranked No. 5 Wisconsin Badgers, co-champions of the Big Ten Conference, and No. 3 TCU Horned Frogs, Mountain West Conference champions, will make their first official appearances of the Rose Bowl Game week at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 26, in a ceremony at the holiday-themed Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle at Disneyland.

Wisconsin Coach Bret Bielema, TCU Coach Gary Patterson and members of both teams will appear in the Castle ceremony with Disneyland Resort Vice President Jon Storbeck, Mickey Mouse and the Disneyland Band. Among the Wisconsin players will be quarterback Scott Tolzien, left tackle Gabe Carimi, linebacker Culmer St. Jean, and strong safety Jay Valai. Featured TCU players in the ceremony will be quarterback Andy Dalton, linebacker Tank Carder, safety Tejay Johnson, and center Jake Kirkpatrick

Following the ceremony, coaches and key players will be available for media interviews in front of the Castle, and then will experience popular Disneyland attractions such as the Matterhorn Bobsleds.

Disneyland has been associated with the Tournament of Roses since 1959 and has had the honor of playing host to many teams during that time. As Disneyland welcomes the 2011 Rose Bowl Game teams, Disney Parks are inviting families to "Let the Memories Begin" with a Disney Parks vacation and to share their memories by uploading photos and video at a special "Let the Memories Begin" online hub at www.DisneyParks.com/Memories. From a first meeting with a princess to a laugh-filled watery touchdown on Splash Mountain, Disney Parks is looking for videos and photos that capture those never-to-be-forgotten experiences. Some memories will be shared online, while others may be selected to share in print ads, brochures and other marketing – including television ads to air across the United States and Canada.

The 97th Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO, played in Pasadena on Saturday, January 1, 2011, will mark the 6th Rose Bowl Game appearance for the Badgers (11-1 in 2010). The Horned Frogs (12-0 in 2010) will be making their first appearance in the Rose Bowl Game. They are the first team from the Mountain West Conference to ever play in the Rose Bowl Game.

The Disneyland Resort features two theme parks – Disneyland (the original Disney theme park) and Disney's California Adventure park – plus the Downtown Disney District comprised of unique dining, entertainment and shopping experiences.  The Resort's three hotels are the luxurious, newly expanded 948-room Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa,  the magical 970-room  Disneyland Hotel and the 481-room Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel with its "day-at-the-beach" fun.
