BIC Group, LLC To Represent CRA Qualified Investment Fund
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Community Capital Management, Inc., the registered investment advisor to the CRA Qualified Investment Fund, announced today the signing of BIC Group, LLC, a third-party, multi-boutique, active distribution sales firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The CRA Qualified Investment Fund has over $1 billion in assets, primarily from institutional investors including banks, foundations, and religious organizations. The Fund seeks to provide above-average, risk-adjusted returns capitalizing on its portfolio of government-related subsectors of the bond market traditionally excluded from the major bond indices.
"For investors looking for diversification away from riskier and more volatile sectors of the bond market, the CRA Qualified Investment Fund is a great option given their ability to find value in potentially higher yielding sectors – specifically, non-correlated government-related sectors," said Jim Kries, President, Head of Sales and Distribution, at BIC Group, LLC. "These sectors can generate a high level of current income while still maintaining a shorter duration versus the Fund's benchmark, the Barclays Capital U.S. Aggregate Bond Index. This combination seeks to provide an added value of protection in a rising rate environment without sacrificing income."BIC Group, LLC will begin marketing the Fund to financial advisors, family offices and institutional investors. Their focus will be on introducing the Fund as a complementary strategy to funds overweight in investment grade corporate bonds, commercial mortgage-backed securities and high yield bonds. "Over the past two years, investment grade corporate bonds, as measured by the Barclays Capital U.S. Corporate Investment Grade subsector, and high yield bonds, as measured by the Barclays Capital U.S. High Yield Index, have returned 46% and 76%, respectively," said Don Evans, President, COO at BIC Group, LLC. "Now may be the optimal time for investors to reallocate into more conservative funds – like the CRA Qualified Investment Fund – which seeks to offer a better risk/reward profile, protecting against both rising interest rates and/or a weakening of the corporate capital structure." "Community Capital is proud to partner with BIC Group, LLC given their well-respected investment professionals and wealth of experience," said David K. Downes, Chief Executive Officer, Community Capital Management. "We are excited about the partnership and look forward to an ongoing affiliation between our two firms."
