New York (TheStreet)-- Property/casualty insurers rates may rise in 2011, but there are some models that would dodge the price bullett.

Insurers such as Allstate(ALL) , Geico, Progressive(PGR) and Travelers (TRV) determine rates by a car model's involvement in insurance claims, the cost to repair the car if parts are damaged, a vehicle's value, safety and security features.

Of couse car insurance rates also depends where you live. The most expensive states to own car insurance in are Louisiana with average premiums of over $2,500; Michigan with rates over $2,000; and Oklahoma, with rates over $1,800, according to Insure.com.

Still, some of the most expensive cars to insure are the Acura ZDX, Audi TTS, Audi A5, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Corvette, BMW Z4, Lexus SC, Jaguar XF and Cadillac STS, according to InsWeb.
