5 U.S. Stocks on a Roll With Emerging Market Revenues
NEW YORK (TheStreet) - Emerging markets, including India, Brazil, Russia Indonesia, and China, are on a roll, not only attracting foreign capital inflows in their economy but their stocks are luring domestic and foreign institutional and retail investors.
Barclays Wealth Management believes that EMs can provide value to investors, not necessarily through their domestic stock markets but through U.S. stocks. Its Asian Fusion investing strategy suggests that U.S. investors keen to earn quick profits from outside the U.S. can get exposure to EM stock markets by buying stocks of U.S. companies with large overseas operations, especially in Asian countries. Barclays says that from the private client product's debut on Aug. 7, 2009, to Nov. 8, 2010, its Asian Fusion holdings rose 59%, improving 40 percentage points than the MSCI World index of developed stocks during the same period. Industry experts such as RDM Sheldon caution that, since most global investors have leveraged the strong potential of emerging markets, the upside for such equities and assets may be limited in the near term. Therefore, the Asian Fusion strategy focuses on the U.S. stocks linked with EMs as a source of revenue. According to the iShares' MSCI Emerging Markets Index(EEM), EMs have accumulated almost 16.7% in 2010 as compared to the S&P 500, which has gained 8.8% year-to-date. Hereby we have captured and profiled a list of U.S.-based companies that have reported strong quarterly results through their large portion of income from EMs. These stocks have a further upside ranging from 12% to 18%. The stocks are ordered in terms of percentage of buys from great to greatest.TheStreet Premium Services
