WEST MELBOURNE, Fla.
Nov. 17, 2010
/PRNewswire/ -- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE Amex: RWC) announced today the successful completion of P25 interoperability tests on
's P25 system infrastructure. RELM's KNG-Series radios demonstrated interoperability by passing all of the required P25 Phase 1 Common Air Interface Trunked Interoperability tests specified by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. This testing is required by these agencies to meet radio users' need for documented proof of interoperability. The testing was conducted as part of the formal P25 Compliance Assessment Program (CAP).
RELM President and CEO
commented, "We are pleased with the results of testing on EFJI's P25 system infrastructure. This represents our second successful CAP test; having passed on Motorola's P25 infrastructure earlier in the year. TIA and DHS stipulate that products pass CAP testing on the systems of three manufacturers. We plan to complete testing on our third system before the end of this year. Considering the urgent need for interoperability, particularly among public safety professionals, and the increasing deployment of P25 infrastructure, passing these tests is a critical step in our strategic plans for the trunked version of our KNG products.
