MANCHESTER, Conn., Nov. 2, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lydall Performance Materials, a division of Lydall, Inc. (NYSE:LDL) announced today that Arioso™ High Performance Air Filtration Composite Media has been chosen as the premium filter media in a range of high efficiency fume extraction filters being produced by Micro-Mesh Engineering, LTD in the UK.
Fume extraction filters are used to remove fine particulate matter which is contained in smoke and fumes generated by laser/plasma cutting and welding operations. The filters engineered with Arioso are designed to remove even the finest particles to provide cleaner air discharge in the workplace and the environment.
Arioso is a composite using an ultra high molecular polyethylene (UPE) membrane developed by Lydall to provide excellent particulate removal while maintaining low air flow resistance which, thereby, lowers overall system energy usage. Arioso is also more durable and chemically resistant than conventional media which allows for a wider range of application possibilities and greater media longevity. Further, Arioso is more environmentally friendly than several competing membranes as it does not contain fluoropolymers or halogens."We believe Arioso is a superior product which offers exceptional industrial hygiene protection for our customers, lower energy usage and a longer filter life due to class-leading cleaning performance," stated James Underwood, Managing Director of Micro-Mesh. Dale Barnhart, CEO of Lydall, Inc. stated, "This is a key milestone in the development of Arioso as we begin seeing the adoption of this innovative technology in the marketplace. We are pleased that Micro-Mesh has selected Arioso and we look forward to a successful commercial launch." About Lydall, Inc.
