Zale Reports a Narrower Loss

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Zale(ZLC), the jewelry retailer, reported a narrower fourth-quarter loss.

Zale posted a net loss of $28.5 million, or 89 cents a share, compared with a year-earlier loss of $89.8 million, or $2.81 a share.

Revenue for the quarter was $345 million, a decrease of 3.4% compared with $357 million the same time last year.

Analysts, on average, were expecting loss of $1.21 a share on revenue of $354.6 million.

Same-store sales during the quarter decreased 2.1%.
