Hurd in Talks With Oracle - Report
REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. (TheStreet) -- Former Hewlett-Packard(HP) CEO Mark Hurd could end up with an executive suite at Oracle(ORCL), according to a published media report.
Hurd is in talks with Oracle about a high-level job with the enterprise software company, according to a report on The Wall Street Journal's Web site that cited anonymous sources familiar with the situation. The article said the exact nature of the job under discussion couldn't be learned, and that the talks weren't complete, so Hurd's hiring could still fall through. > > Bull or Bear? Vote in Our Poll Larry Ellison, Oracle's founder and CEO, will not leave the chief executive's office, the article added, citing one of the sources. Hurd left HP after a former contractor to the company filed allegations of sexual harassment against Hurd. Although HP's board determined that Hurd did not violate the company's sexual harassment policy, it did find that he violated its code of business conduct, the Journal article noted. Shares of Oracle finished Friday up 44 cents at $22.92.>To order reprints of this article, click here: ReprintsTheStreet Premium Services For Personal Service: 877-471-2967
