NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Retailers have been reporting same-store sales Thursday and so far Costco(COST), Limited(LTD), Wet Seal(WTSLA), Buckle(BKE), Zumiez(ZUMZ), Hot Topic(HOTT) and Stein Mart(SMRT) have all topped expectations according to TheStreet's retail reporter Jeanine Poggi, in her live blog.

"I am a bit surprised ... by this morning's numbers, I was bracing for disappointment," Poggi said. But "I think jobs data tomorrow though could move things in either direction."

Poggi isn't expecting any major swings in stock prices Thursday given that second-quarter earnings just wrapped up and earnings revisions are unlikely.

Same-stores sales -- a key indicator of retail health -- so far show:

  • Costco -- up 7% vs. the consensus expectation of up 4.2%
  • Limited -- up 10% vs. the consensus expectation of up 7.3%
  • Wet Seal -- up 1.1% vs. the consensus expectation of down 3.5%
  • Buckle -- down 3.5% vs. the consensus expectation of down 6.5%
  • Zumiez -- up 9.1% vs. the consensus expectation of up 7.7%
  • Stein Mart -- up 8.5% vs. the consensus expectation of flat
  • Hot Topic -- down 3.7% vs. the consensus expectation of down 6.2%
  • Macy's(M) -- up 4.3% vs. the consensus expectation of up 4%
  • Target(TGT) -- up 1% vs. the consensus expectation of up 2%
  • American Eagle Outfitters(AEO) -- up 1% vs. the consensus expectation of up 1.1%
  • Dillard's( DDS ) -- unchanged vs. the consensus expectation of down 0.5%
  • Gap( GPS ) -- flat vs. the consensus expectation of down 0.2%
  • Abercrombie & Fitch ( ANF ) -- up 6% and in line with expectations
  • Aeropostale( ARO ) -- down 1% vs. the consensus expectation of up 1.2%
  • BJ's ( BJ ) -- up 2.4%, vs. the consensus expectation of up 3.3%

Despite Buckle's same-stores sales beat, Poggi remains concerned about the company given that it hasn't succumbed to the promotional environment and seems to be suffering as a result.
