NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Apple(AAPL) CEO Steve Jobs was looking vibrant and energetic as he unveiled new products at the company's eagerly-awaited product conference at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco this afternoon.

Before unveiling the new Apple products and services, Jobs revealed new stores in Paris, China and London -- the company is opening its third big store in London, this time in Covent Garden. "We're also very excited about our second store in China ... it's a landmark in glass engineering -- that's a reference to the store's fancy windows," he said, as noted by TheStreet's tech reporters in a live blog of the Apple conference.

Conference attendees responded with loud applause to Jobs' announcement of 120 million iOS devices shipped of the more than 275 million iPods sold, and the over 250,000 Apps that are now available -- of which 25,000 are iPad Apps. Jobs also announced that the iOS 4.1 will be available next week via a free download from iTunes.

Jobs said Apple fans can expect a sneak peek of the 4.2 later this year and the addition of wireless printing to iOS.

The updates resonated well with the crowd, but not nearly as well as details of Apple's new iPod. Jobs announced there's a new design for every single model and that the new iPod is smaller than the second generation one.

Jobs described easy-to-use buttons -- so the user doesn't have to look down at the product -- voice-over and a playlist, as well as a clip for instant wearing.

Reporters at TheStreet, in their live blog of the Apple conference, spoke of a $49 price tag for the new 2GB shuffle, a $179 price tag for the 16GB and a $149 price tag for the 8GB.
