Reliv Kalogris Foundation Raises $60,000 During Reliv International's 22nd Annual Conference

ST. LOUIS, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The Reliv Kalogris Foundation, the charitable arm of Reliv International, Inc., raised more than $60,000 during the company's international conference held here Aug. 12-14.

More than $40,000 of the total funds raised during the conference was raised at the foundation's fourth annual "Walk for the Mission" on Aug. 14.  This year, more than 2,000 Reliv independent distributors participated in the walk.

Other cash donations and the proceeds of a Kalogris Foundation video sold during the conference brought in an additional $20,000 for the foundation, making a total of more than $60,000 for the three-day period.

The Reliv Kalogris Foundation provides free nutritional supplements to more than 42,000 people through more than 270 feeding programs in the United States and nine other countries.

Proceeds from the "Walk for the Mission" and other annual conference activities are used to fund special projects to aid the foundation's feeding programs. In the past three years, the Reliv Foundation has built four combination feeding centers and classrooms using funds raised by the walk events. Two of the centers are in the Philippines and two are in Haiti.

"In the last four years, we have raised $350,000 for the Reliv Foundation through our mission walk and related activities," said R. Scott Montgomery, chairman of the foundation. "We are blown away by the generosity of Reliv distributors," he added.

Since its founding in 1995, the Reliv Foundation has distributed more than $23 million in nutritional supplements to malnourished individuals throughout the world.

Thousands of distributors from Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Mexico and the United States attended Reliv's 2010 international conference. This year's celebration was marked by recognition of accomplishments by Reliv's independent distributors during the last 12 months, along with training, education and motivational activities.
