Penn Virginia Resource Partners Selects 5280 Solutions' Dynamic Payables
HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Penn Virginia Resource Partners, L.P. (NYSE: PVR), a publicly traded limited partnership formed by Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE: PVA), has chosen Dynamic Payables, an accounts payable invoice automation solution that combines powerful imaging, workflow, reporting, and Microsoft Dynamics AX integration on Microsoft SharePoint® to accelerate the profitability of its growing energy operations. The new solution will handle key document and financial processes, including automatic data extraction, PO matching, workflow management, high volume invoice processing, and seamless integration to Dynamics AX for PVR.
Operating out of four locations in Radnor, PA, Kingsport, TN, and Dallas and Houston, TX, PVR was tasked with selecting a new ERP and document management platform as it had become an independent business from Penn Virginia Corporation. With previous experience utilizing SAP and PowerVision for invoice automation, the business needed an application robust enough to handle many complexities while providing ease of use to its users.
After an exhaustive selection campaign PVR found 5280's Dynamic Payables solution the best for its business. Project Manager Claude Harless said, "5280's Dynamic Payables gives us all the functionality we need without the complexity of the other systems. It provides the most seamless integration with Dynamics AX and gives us a document, process, and information management platform that will allow us to efficiently manage the AP invoice process and other document workflows."
Another critical component of the project is getting a system in place that can be expanded to manage all documents and workflows. "While functionality within the Dynamic Payables application was important, equally important was the flexibility and scalability of the system that lives inside Microsoft SharePoint," said Forrest McNair, Controller and Vice President at PVR. "5280 Solutions proved to have a solution that significantly reduces manual data entry; can easily be configured to manage scanning, workflow, and reporting for documents and information outside our Finance department; and provides immediate access to relevant documents across departments while ensuring document and information security."5280 Solutions has a track record of success in providing document management and process automation solutions to companies using Dynamic Payables. "With users diversified across three locations, two lines of business, and dozens of operating entities and sophisticated users accustomed to tier one solutions, it was important for PVR to find a well-rounded solution," said Roman Mohren, Director of Channel Sales at 5280 Solutions. "Dynamic Payables is an innovative document and workflow management platform for energy companies like PVR, and we are looking forward to helping them deploy it across their business to help them meet the business goals they've defined." PVR's deployment of Dynamic Payables includes 30 users across Finance, Management, and its Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) departments, using complementary Microsoft platform solutions such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.
