Clean Edge Indices Flat Last Week

QWND's worst pure play performers were Broadwind Energy, losing 12.65 percent; carbon fiber composite material developer Zoltek Companies(ZOLT), down 7.44 percent; Spain-based renewable energy producer EDP Renovaveis(EDPR), losing 4.89 percent; wind turbine manufacturer Nordex(NDX1), declining 4.88 percent; and wind turbine parts maker China High Speed Transmission Equipment Group(0658), falling 4.20 percent from the previous week.

QGRD -- down 1.71 percent from the previous week -- is composed of companies that are primarily involved in the electric grid; electric meters, devices, and networks; energy storage and management; and enabling software used by the smart grid and electric infrastructure sector. Of QGRD's 21 pure play components, 20 experienced losses and one ended the week unchanged.

QGRD's best pure play performer was Italy-based energy cable provider Prysmian(PRY), unchanged for the week.

Rounding out the top five pure play performers were energy storage technology developer NGK Insulators(53330), down 0.42 percent; energy management and automation company Schneider Electric(SU), falling 0.48 percent; renewable energy inverter maker SMA Solar Technology(S92) , 0.84 percent lower; and transmission grid owner and operator ITC Holdings(ITC), losing 1.08 percent.

QGRD's worst performers included transformer, substation, and switchgear maker Jinpan International(JST), losing 24.42 percent; Comverge(COMV), down 11.71 percent; utility industry specialty contractor Pike Electric(PIKE), 7.81 percent lower; electrical infrastructure contractor MYR Group(MYRG), falling 7.23 percent; electric utility specialty contractor Quanta Services(PWR), lower by 6.10 percent.
