Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. Announces Financial Results For The Fiscal Quarter Ended May 31, 2010
Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. (DYII) today reported financial results for the third quarter ended May 31, 2010. For the fiscal quarter ended May 31, 2010, the Company had a net loss of $2.3 million, or $0.16 per share, compared to a net income of $1.0 million, or $0.06 per share for the fiscal quarter ended May 31, 2009.
The net patient service revenues decreased by $8.1 million, or 62%, from $13.0 million for the quarter ended May 31, 2009 to $4.9 million for the quarter ended May 31, 2010 primarily due to a decrease in the overall number of cases in the current period. For the nine months ended May 31, 2010, the Company had a net loss of $6.5 million, or $0.44 per share, compared to a net income of $652,000, or $0.04 per share for the nine months ended May 31, 2009. The net patient service revenues decreased by $16.6 million, or 45%, from $36.7 million for the nine months ended May 31, 2009 to $20.1 million for the nine months ended May 31, 2010.
